The Lounges are a chain of restaurants spread across the nation and they have quickly become one of my favourite places to eat. At first, I didn’t immediately make the connection between Brasco Lounge in Liverpool and the Otto Lounge in Heswall, even though the decoration had the same quirky touches and the menus were obviously the same, duh. But after visiting the Marino Lounge in New Brighton, I twigged. Yes, it took me that long.
I struggle with confidence eating out in restaurants, as soon as a waiter/waitress looks unsure of anything I’m put off. I’ve been to so many restaurants where I’ve felt worried and uncomfortable about eating the food so eating at The Lounges is a welcome breath of fresh air. They have a completely separate gluten-free menu, with their vegan menu on the back. When you ask about their kitchen preparation they answer with confidence and when the plate comes to your table they confirm it’s gluten-free without being asked.
So, not only is the experience a pleasant one but their food is amazing. They have more gluten-free choices than every restaurant I’ve been to, and with their relaxed decor and funky tables, it’s the perfect meal out.
