Last week I received some crumpet goodies from the Warburton’s Newburn Bakehouse range. I’ve had the Genius gluten-free crumpets before and they’ve been OK, but it’s not a product I would put into my weekly shop; they always taste really gluten-free, I know they’re gluten-free but, well, they taste like cardboard.
These crumpets weren’t as thick as the Genius ones, so they don’t take as long to grill (I burnt my first one, oops), but they did taste less gluten-free than the Genius ones, which is obviously a big plus! They’re only £1.99 so I would definitely consider buying them if I walked past them, but I’m not sure I would search for them online when doing my food shop. A few of them had also fallen apart but that was probably down to the journey and being posted through my letterbox.
They certainly tasted like crumpets…So if you were a crumpet-lover before you went gluten-free, I’d highly recommend you try these ones out.
You can find them in Sainsbury’s and Tesco so far, for more details check their crumpet page out here!
